Why aren't my stop loss (S/L) and take profit (T/P) orders activated?
Your stop loss (S/L) and take profit (T/P) orders will only be activated when the market price reaches the specified level.
For buy positions: The S/L activates based on the bid price. The T/P activates based on the bid price, which is higher than the bid price displayed on the charts.
For sell positions: The S/L activates based on the ask price. The T/P will also be activated when the ask price reaches the target set price.
Keep in mind that MT4/MT5 price charts display bid prices only. The ask price is the bid price plus the spread. Especially for sell orders, even if the chart shows a price that seems to hit your target, the actual ask price may not have reached it yet, preventing the execution of your S/L or T/P orders.
